Man, I have been absent from the internet! I actually don't know that that is going to change ton quite yet...but here is more or less what's been going on:

I'm on spring break, now! It was pretty damned hectic in the getting there, but I am here, now.
Also, shortly before break, I saw GIRLYMAN in concert. With Coyote Grace. And it was completely lovely and wonderful ♥

I also have been helping penguinfaery, wastedbytime, and briteskies move into their shiny new apartment.

And today, I went with my brother to the Wildlife Sanctuary in Hudson (out kinda by where I used to live. When I lived way the hell outside of nowhere, when I first lived in CO.) It was my (significantly late) birthday present to him. And it was actually awesome! I saw all of the big cats :3 Including servals, which might be my new favorite something. Damn they are pretty.

I also, today, cemented the fact that I have a job lined up for the summer! I went in to Old Job (Claire's) and talked to Old Manager (who had sent me a Facebook message telling me she was interested in hiring me back) and she said that as soon as I was done with school, I could start. Hell. Yeah.

So that's one major stress, handled. Also, I got in contact with the advising center at school and they fixed the thing that was stopping me from making an advising appointment...so, I have done that. And I will register for classes for next semester on April 6. One more stressor, down.

I'm also going to be helping my mama take her class (kindergarten) on a field trip to the zoo on Thursday...which, while maybe not something I'd generally volunteer to do, will be nice to spend a day with my mom; she's not on break currently.

I unfortunately do have art homework to finish this week. But...whatever. I can get it done. It'll be fine.

My FUCK!Week this week has been cemented as FUCK!TwoWeeks. Next week isn't really going to be less ridiculous.

I'm half done--art and work stuff for this week is generally out of the way. But I have a Spanish exam and a Discourse essay due on Friday.
Next Tuesday I have an art midterm, Thursday I have a Semantics presentation (which I have not even started thinking about), and Friday I have a discourse midterm.

I am really looking forward to the Saturday after that, when all of this is done.

This is my most darling actourdreams's journal that she works on:

Peripheral Surveys

They are looking for submissions: Fiction, poetry, essays, reviews, photography – pretty much everything.

So if you produce any of these things, and want them published, submit here! ♥

The theme for this issue is:

ps+ 1st edition theme: art of noncompliance
in our first edition, ps+ seeks to represent idiosyncratic voices and expressions of all artistic mediums that bear the unique tone of dissonance, revolution, discord, discontent, uncertainty, ambiguity, ambivalence, resistance and insubordination to the mainstream, authoritarian and conservative identities, symbols and existences of this world whose tyrannic conservatism, extreme privileges and dogmatic moral and religious standards suffocate the last living breath out of creative minds. all the submissions should be within and connected to this theme.

Fine arts are also wanted/accepted, not just photography!

Someday, this map is going to be solid. And even ones that are filled in will be filled in with more time spent there.

I just got the sweetest Valentine's Day-combo-birthday care package from my godparents!

They sent me a sweet card, a trashy magazine, a little inspirational quotes book, gummy vitamins, eyeliner, notecards with Cameron's (my god-brother who died when I was a freshman in high school) art on them, tissues, granola bars, a candle and a whole ton of candy.

Is it bizarre that I'm most excited about the gummy vitamins? Because I totally am.

It's also gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and I am about to go ROLLERBLADING between classes.

I hope you all are having good days, too. ♥

I don't like when people have strong opinions on Valentine's Day.
Maybe that's unfair of me. But I think its silly to be excessively, over-the-top into it or down on it.

I don't really groove on there being one allotted day to show people you love them. I hope the people I love don't ever doubt that I love them, based on my actions.

I don't hate Valentine's Day. It doesn't thrill me, either. But it's here, and I have something to share.
Kinda because it's Valentine's Day, kinda just because...I want to, and Valentine's Day seems like just as good an excuse as any.

I don't apply all these songs necessarily to romantic love, although that's generally the gist of the mix.
I just wanted songs about loving people--and ones that were about healthy, functional, good, sweet relationships.
Because those are the kinds I want to have with people and I want the people I care about to have.

So here are a handful of love songs.

I Like You

[Abigail Zsiga] Better With You
[.38 Special] Hold On Loosely
[Say Anything] A Walk Through Hell
[Sister Hazel] All For You
[Modern English] Melt With You
[Rob Thomas] All That I Am
[Blue October] Calling You
[Death Cab For Cutie] I Will Follow You Into The Dark
[IVY] Worry About You
[Incubus] Wish You Were Here
[Red Hot Chili Peppers] Hard To Concentrate
[Savage Garden] I Want You
[Snow Patrol] The Lightning Strike
